Ideas for writing a book?

I'm 14 and I want to write a book for fun and experience. I want to write a young adult, present time or futuristic book. I think I want to have a book about wizards and witches(like Harry Potter)but not totally copying it.Or one like the Hunger Games or If I stay.Any plot/story ideas?

Okay, here's one that my friend and I came up with but we're never gonna use:
A girl and her two sisters is sold to the government to have tests done on them. Her parents sold them for loads of money. The government lock them up in a room where they will stay, they can have pretty much any food they wanna eat but they have no freedom. They don't know what they're there for. The government injects them with needles that end up giving them super powers. The government starts to train the girls how to use their super powers. The girls then use their superpowers to escape the government base by working together. And you can decide where it leads off from there good luck!

Okay, any ideas for a futuristic book?

Well, my book is set in the year 2162. You might want to do something with the government, or form some sort of rebellion against them.

Do you think it would be a good idea to incorporate wizards and magic into the story?Or would that not make a good story with the government? Also, how do u create chapters and parts?I've never written a book or short story before,so I don't know

I don't think wizardry and the government would be a great mix. And as far as chapter and parts go, I usually give the chapter the title. You could also just do a few parts of the book (or "sections") like the book Fahrenheit 451 does. I actually highly recommend you read that. It's a sci-fi about books being prohibited by law, and firemen burn the books instead of put fires out. It's very good.

I wouldn't say I'm a pro, but I'm a lot better than I used to be. I still have a lot to learn though.

What you need to do is sit down and brainstorm. Just list as many ideas as you can think of. Don't worry at this point if they're good or bad. A bad idea can sometimes evolve into a great one with a little tweaking. Just come up with as many as you can. Later you can go back over them and see which ones catch your eye. Any story needs conflict and resolution and pits the hero in challenging situations. Maybe a witch that's afraid of heights has to learn to fly on her broomstick, just as an example to get you going.

You could combine both. A scientist somehow learns how to brew potions and is then called The Witch. He has to use his potions to save the world. I myself also love writing stories. I'm currently writing a SciFi book.

Write what you know. Paint a picture. What do you know of fantasies? Work up an outline, characters, themes, plots. Good luck, hope this helps.
