Sued for defamation. Can SSDI or Veteran Admin disability be garnished to pay plantiffs award

Report as

There is likelihood that the veteran disability can be garnished on order to pay plaintiffs award. The courts usually allow this in certain circumstances. However, there are new rules that have been set up to prevent garnishment of veteran's benefits.

In the past you benefits could be garnished. There has been some rule changes although I don't know how it will effect garnishments. The money to pay for these things has to come from some where if that's a persons only income it should be garnished
