Because the majority of Israeli people are JEWISH.... Not Christian... Those missionaries are ridiculous and self absorbed anyways.. A religious faith is not something to be persuaded upon people who have their own faith to begin with... Stop trying to "convert" people who don't even understand English and go for a real challenge, like "convert" an atheist, or scientologist...
You know Jews are over protective and know that on earth only one Jewish state is there and they don't want to lose it. If Christians convert their people into Christianity they will turn Israel into a Christian state and thus they will lose their identity.
Not all are rejected. As a matter of fact there's one missionary call International Fellowship of Christians and Jews started by Rabbi Eckstein who are helping the Jewish people from all over the world get back to Israel in which is fulfilling biblical prophecy. I myself have had the privilege of helping this come to past. They are also helping to feed and shelter them. It cost $ 350 just to get 1 Jew back home and they have had helped hundreds of thousands back home. Just about 10-12 years ago I helped 10 Jews get back to Israael. Praise Jesus.
First things first. Pray about it. Second thing. I think one of the reasons they don't like missionary's is because they have the proof all around them that Jesus really was alive, but they don't want to change, so they ignore it.
Israel is Jewish in general. Jews deny Jesus as Christ and the New Testament and call God a liar. The rebell against God to this day. Christians point these facts out. That makes Jews mad (except messianic Jews). They probably dont like our waffley politics and the way we keep trying to support both them AND their Arab enemies.

Kay08, I believe it is because it is not their time yet. The Apostle Paul says in Romans 11:7-8 (The Living New Testament's Version), " So this is the situation: most of the Jews have not found the favor of God they are looking for (thru adherence to the Law). A few have--but the eyes of the others have been blinded. This is what our Scriptures refer to when they say that God has put them to sleep, shutting their eyes and ears so that they do not understand what we are talking about when we tell them of Christ. And so it is to this very day." But if you skip to verse 11 and 12, you'll see that it will turn out alright for them :). "Does this mean that God has rejected His Jewish people forever? Of course not! His purpose was to make His salvation available to the Gentiles, and then the Jews would be jealous and begin to want God's salvation for themselves. Now if the whole world became rich as a result of God's offer of salvation, when the Jews stumbled over it and turned it down, think how much greater blessing the world will share in later on when the Jews too, come to Christ." Thanks for your insightful question, bye!
