Repeat.... Can a CO compell an enlisted man under his command to compell the man to VOLUNTEEE a DNA sample? I hand delivered a letter Fri.

His DNA is needed to compare to a rape kit. The police dont have enough evidence for a court order to get the sample. There is currently no match in CODIS to the contributors DNA. I did inform the CO of what was the very circumstantial evidence in the letter.

military and civilian justice are different. there are probably circumstances you didn't mention like on or off base...on or off duty

it had to be an official bugal swab with signed consent that its being volunteered. I am prior military. I know the culture is very different from civilians. Tachnically I was forved to volunteer for a whole bunch of stuff in the military.
