Is it possible to be overweight and healthy?

Report as

One might start off being healthy and overweight, but the weight will take it's toll in a short period of time. It causes strain on the heart....among other things. My friends Doctor told her once to picture herself carrying around a bowling ball that weighed the amount she was overweight. When you think about that, it makes sense how bad it truly is.

No, that is a contradiction. You can be overweight and fit, if it's all muscle. But even that could put a strain on heart.

Well there's husky which is where you lift weights and have muscle but still have higher body fat. However it's not as healthy as being lean with muscle or just being thin in general. So I don't think you can be really healthy and overweight.

I've been overweight all my life as I remember. I played sports work hard jobs. Have never spent any time in a hospital in 53 years. I've had some injuries got a few stitches here and there. The only other reason I see a dr is I need a DOT physical every 2 years. That being said I'm sure one day it will all catch up with me

My dad is a little overweight and he doesn't have any health problems so yeah as long as your not very overweight.
