Make sure to do what the orthodontist tells you like wearing elastics, brushing 3 times a day and stuff like that. Use wax generously or you will get you lips/cheeks cut up pretty bad. When you get braces, take it easy and eat soft foods like pudding or applesauce for a week or so. If the pain is really bad, take some Tylenol. When your teeth start to feel better, try to eat harder foods like sandwiches, and chew sugarless gum (gumballs, popcorn, caramels, and whole apples are no-no's!) Brush 3 times a day or else when they come off there will be a line of cavities and plaque where the braces used to be! Make sure to floss! Good luck!
