Ice it for 20 min. You could also go to a chiropractor :)

my dad has back pain and what he uses to help his back is icy hot patches you can get at cvs or walgreens or rite aid and heating blanket massage chair or little massager or even a ice pack or a pack where u can put water in it and heat it up and put on your back or a back brace :) hope u feel better and everything works out so u dont have any back pain

Sounds like your in spasm..
Definitely ice for 20 min. an hour

sitting causes more pain
Get someone to lightly massage after icing

At your age, you should be seeing a doctor, probably a Pediatrician!

At 14 get to a doctor to get checked out it could be something other than your back, like kidneys depending where the pain is could be something more or just pulled muscles. A very close friend to my daughters had back pain to find out she had other major issues. If not for her dad being a Physical ED teacher and took her right away she may not be here today. Good luck and hope it is just a pulled muscle.

Rolfing is a method of systematic massage that helped me. Rolfers are rare, but you can find one in your area by searching on google.

i don't suggest chiropractor cause he makes his money by you haveing to keep going back to him. its only temporary relief. i suggest laying on a hard surface cause this supports your back. not a bed or couch. like the floor. trying heat cream like tiger balm or bengay. keep all your necesities near by cause every time you get up it'll irritate your back. like food remote control homework. have your mother help you get stuff so you don't get up. stay on the hard surface till your well enough to get up. and if it becomes reoccuring i suggest going to an accupuncturist. i once was pulling out my back every other week for 6 months once i went to one and healed my back. i haven't pulled my back out again since and it's been over ten years.

You are way too young for back problems. I strongly encourage seeing a doctor to make sure there are no serious problems with your spine, kidneys or other organs. If OK'd by the doctor, start moving. The safest movements for back problems: walking, swimming (no fancy diving or twisting), and maybe even biking - they are low impact. When feeling better and OK'd by the doctor, then you can think about other core strengthening exercises if it is a spinal problem.

BTW - if ice does not help with the pain, ask the doctor if heat is OK. I actually get relief alternating between the two sometimes. Depends on what is causing the pain or where it is located. Spasms may respond better to heat - it relaxes the nerves and muscles; inflammation or injuries to cold - it slows swelling of the tissues.

Back pain - I've been there. Computers and gaming encourage a sedentary lifestyle, causing muscles to weaken and pain to set in. It's taken a few years to regain my core strength but I now enjoy 45-60 minutes of aerobic dance that focuses on the core at least every other day, Qi Gong for stretching and flexibility and occasional light weights and resistance bands.

Since you are under age, go tell your parents about your problems. That is why they're parents. That is what they are here for. Asking this question isn't going to solve anything. Except for this one. Just go to your parents. Tell them your problem. They would probably take you to a doctor. Or they will help you out themselves. Your parents know what to do. Medicine, therapy, ice, or heat, or just by massaging it. Again, talk to your parents.

Most of the time people suffer back problems from either having a weak back or being overweight. Most of the time, working out moderately will correct any issues over time. I use to stand at my old job for 8 hours a day with no problem. After having a job where I am able to sit down, I feel like 1 hour on my feet hurts my lower back now. This is because my back is weaker now because I don't use these muscles as much as I used to. If that don't help I would recommend a physical therapist before going to a chiropractor as like someone had already said, a chiropractor is only a temporary solution. If you need to find a good physical therapist and want to pay a price you can afford visit www.peoplebidding.com and post an ad to the physical therapist category. It will ask you the price you want to pay, distance you want to travel, etc. Good luck!
