What would be a good starting hand gun for under $200?

Report as

None. That's not enough for a good gun. Do not buy cheap guns, only good ones.

Live with the highest ranked policeman and know for a fact a good gun can be purchased for $200. Just recently purchased a beautiful Rugar (stainless) brand new for $435.00. A good .22 handgun or rifle definitely can be found.

What does your $400+ RugEr have to do with a $200 handgun? Yeah you can find an old sloppy H&R 9 shot .22 for 200, but why? Wait, save a little more $, and get something you won't be looking to trade in a month.

I was assuming an adult asked this question, I do not recommend a 22 for adults. The only reason an dult should have 22's is if they still have them from being a kid. An adult should start with bigger guns.

And your high ranked policeman ain't nothing compared to a marine raised country boy.

Not one in the first place... If you're getting a gun you better be well trained with it and none is better then 1 if you ask me. Ps I'm anti liberal so don't lump my calm demeanor in with those fairness crapholes.

A used .22 would be your best bet. You could possibly find one in a gun shop, pawn shop or auction. It is your constitutional right to bear arms. Registered guns are not the problem - throw-aways are. Wish more people were educated on this subject.

Depends on what you want to do with the weapon. As mentioned is a nice caliber for target shooting as well as varmint hunting. As for finding one under $200 you'll most likely be looking for a used firearm.
