Should I keep my dog?

I have a 150 pound Great Dane that has a bite record for biting two boys 10-13 years of age. He absolutley hates strangers that come to our house (due to his anxiety and protective attitude) and snaps when you walk up to the fence. We sent him to a wonderful K-9 expert and he said he was just an awesome dog, and would love to keep him as a pet but doesn't have the space, but that he was unpredictable around kids. Please help I don't know what else to do.

We had to take our Basset Hound to a Trainer , as he was a rescue dog and hadn't been treated very good ! It took a little time to mellow him out and he still barks like crazy when somebody comes to the door , but he's a real sweetie now ! Lot's of love and kind treatment really help . The trainer worked with us to get him to not be so aggressive and mean, and it worked ! Call a couple trainers in your area and see what they can do for you !

Keep him he's an amazing dog Great Danes are beautiful animals. He may just be protective of you not trying to hurt anyone. And also, not to sound mean: Do you spoil him? Meaning give him what he wants?

If you really love the dog, you should just take him to a trainer, so they can train him to act more nicely. It might cost a bit, but at least you would get to keep him.

Keep him and be his leader. Like a true leader. Fearless leader. Like a leader of a warrior tribe. That's all that's needed. Although. You must punish him if he does not listen. You'll be fine.

If you are willing to work with your dog and with the K-9 expert, I would recommend keeping him. The dog just has issues to work out, and I'm sure you still love the dog. It's like working with a difficult kid - you'll pull your hair out sometimes, but in the end you'll be incredibly proud of him and thankful you stuck through it.

Yes! It is a proven fact that if you have a dog not even looking at them can relieve stress! It's just have that special animal by you all the time. They say petting and loving them relieves even MORE stress. Scientists say that every one should have a dog to keep company and joy

it is your choice but you could make him a police dog if he bites or you can have an expert tell you the best way to calm him down but in my opinion you should keep the dog and slowly get strangers near your house a get your dog to know they are not so bad
