. Simple sugars found in fruits and veggies aren't bad for you. Too much of anything can be harmfull. As honey has more than just sugar it can be helpfull. Honey also has medicinal qualities and never goes bad. Complex sugars take time to break down. like carbs. It is a slow release of energy. Many atheletes carb up. simple sugars are delivered into the bloodstrem quickly(rush) but make your pancreas,liver kidneys work harder stablizing blood. you would probably never be able to eat enough fruits /veggies to equal the blast of cane sugar in the same volumes.
Honey is one sweet that diabetics can eat, but only Tupelo honey, which is from tupelo tree blossoms that only grow in parts of Mississippi and Florida. There is also evidence that honey has natural antibiotics and has been used to treat some minor injuries. It can be used to soothe a sore throat and a spoonful a day is supposed to help you immune system stay strong, atleast according to my Granny. And there is a difference between ' commercial ' you get at the store and ' pure ' honey you get directly from the hive.
