No it is not true. People are not usually allergic to the cat's hair, they are allergic to their dander (particles from their skin and saliva). All cats have dander. Also, if you ARE allergic to the hair, Himalayans are a very fluffy long haired breed----lots of hair will be everywhere on your house. I am mildly allergic so I can acclimate myself to them. If you are highly allergic, this will not be possible. See about a different type of pet. Maybe a rabbit?

Ask a vet which cat produces the least dander.

maybe i know my dog is a long haired small dog and he sheds alot less then even the short haired ones so maybe, someone told me his breed is good for people with allergies...not to sure if cats are the same way or not.... you could go for those egyptian cats with no hair, bet they wouldnt give u allergies.

It's the dander of animals that people are allergic to, so I doubt there's any animal without dander.
