Thanks a lot ask. Com! Why didn't you tell me at sign up that you would reveal my email address when I asked a question?

I asked a valid question concerning an educational pursuit and ended up with someone emailing me looking to "hookup"!

The only way your email gets out there is if you provide it in a question, answer, your profile, or comment. Ain't no one's fault but your own.

Never happened.

Well, could be spam. Ask wouldn't put your email out or email you about hooking up.

yea dude, when im asking stuff about people wanting to join a club i have to actually TELL them my email

Sorry I didn't have my contacts in, apparently the "hookup" email came directly from ask. Com
Report as
The email you got was just from a stupid users answer on your question. Has nothing to do with ask.

capcon,

Your email is not visible to users on the site. In looking things over you received an email directly from Ask.com when your question was answered. Unfortunately, that answer was actually from a spammer. That answer has been removed. We certainly apologize for the inconvenience.

Yes I see that now, my apologies. BTW I am not looking for any "hookups". So save all the pithy comments people.

No worries. Feel free to delete that email and hopefully some folks will answer your question for you. :)

It wasn't from ask! It was from a users answer, Ask just sent their answer to you so you know! Stop getting so ticked at everyone.
Report as
Ticked? Not ticked, just annoyed with spam that was apparently forward by ask, and originating from an ask user. If you know this user spams, can I be correct in the assumption his user account was terminated?
Report as
Email is generated automatically and that was the person's first post so there was no way to know ahead of time that they were going to spam. Moving forward, it has been addressed.
