How do I ask my manager that I want the day off

OK, Im working on saturday from 5 to 11pm a week before I already made plans so what should I do and how should I ask... I may even be able to ask someone if they can cover for me but how does that work?

Just go up to them at LEAST a week in advance and say "Hey, can I get the day off on such-and-such day?" Usually they'll be fine as long as you give plenty of notice, and you don't make a habit of it.

Would a 4 day notice be good? Its just I made plans with gf for valintines day and im at my moms its just I didnt think that was a good enough excuse

4 days would probably be fine, though I'd recommend asking a coworker if they are willing to take the open shift. That way you can say "Can I take the day off? So-and-so said they'd take the shift."

As for the excuse... you can just say a planned personal event. You don't have to be specific.

Do u think that would really work? I work at Wendys
Report as
Oh then probably not. I've never worked at one of those places so I don't really know…My work doesn't really care, he's just lets me not show up at work if I don't want to…As long as I finish my work...

Always try to give a one to two week notice. It gives you're boss plenty of time to have someone cover you're shift. Just be yourself and ask.

"Hey- I have important plans... Can I have the day off...?"
And make sure you tell your boss soon- not the day before :)

I hate to tell you this but it worked for me a day before come to work not being yourself then hopefully you can act keep saying you don't feel well you can even double over in pain hidden but in someone's sight then the next day call in sick when you return it was something you ate the sicker you act the day before the easier it is to call in just don't come back with a tan
