Geckos almost always have two soft-shelled eggs that harden quickly after leaving the female's body. What makes it a confusing situation is that they can lay groups (clutches) of eggs with other geckos, when there are many females in the area.
Geckos have babies by laying eggs. A female gecko can lay eggs whether she has a male to fertilize them or not. However, they will not hatch if they are not fertilized. A female gecko can have an average of 16 eggs in a season.
