How can you tell if someone is telling a lie.

Tell them to look you in the eye and say it. If they laugh their lying, if their serious then their not.

They start lagging Aut whale talking and changing the topic alot also nervous and sometimes might not even look at you whale telling the lies.

The science behind it is way too complex to answer at such a vague level. I'm sorry. If I could get some more information on your issue that would help.

Did you brush your teeth today? Are you doing drugs? Did steal money from the store? If I asked all these questions to the same person and they lied and said, "no", the same reactions, body movements, words that come from their mouth will not be on any different level. Lying is not a hard/complexed "thing" to detect.

Did you brush your teeth today? Subject answers yes confidently. Are you doing drugs? Subject changes body language and answers no. So they're lying, right? Not necessarily. They could have had a family member who died from drugs or they could even have just remembered something completely irrelevant to the subject that they don't like. The possibilities are endless. Lying is hard to detect.

It's not hard to detect Marcus. I'm a cop, I've been around the block with detecting it. With my kids and the criminals. The brain is complex, but not being able to notice if somebody is lying is complex.

One doesn't have to work in law to figure it out. Put down the books and get out there and experience it for yourself.

If they can't look at you while they're talking. If you stay quiet and let them talk, they usually start tripping over their words.

Well, you can tell if someone is lying by the size of their pupils. If you are talking to someone and their pupils widen than that means they are lying. If they stay regular than that means that they are telling the truth. You can also tell by their heart beat. If their heart beat suddenly rises after asking your question etc, than that often means that they are nervous and lying. Hope this helps. :)

You can't!

To be honest you have to rely on what you know and trust people for the most part!
Or go the other way...EVERYONE IS LYING :O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway people lie all the time so it is very hard to tell!
