This doesn't mean the photo is edited or altered.. The picture can look very, very real and still not be a photo of the person you're speaking with. Like, if we only knew each other online and I showed you a photo of my best friend and said it was me.. You'd never know but the photo would appear perfectly authentic.
Report as
Okay but how do I know if their picture is fake?
Report as
If you seen it multiple times on different accounts and if that person asks different from other pics

start asking them questions and if they change their answer from one thing to another then they are fake

They tell you to go another website where you can see pictures of them or find a date.

Flip a coin, heads they're fake, tails they're probably fake. There is no way, that's why you're always advised not to give to many details about yourself

look at their friends list (Facebook) if they have very few and post about all of the parties (they should have more friends online) or if they communicate with someone quit a bit maybe add them and ask them if they've meet or talked to him/her. also if you have a cyber relationship ask to call and tslk on the phone... or meet up if she declines then that's another indication it's fake. or take their picture and to a web search on it to see if it was taken from another profile or a Google search. there are many many ways to tell.

There is no way, just like knowing the questions asked here are real. That's why you need to be careful on the Internet. Guess you haven't seen the ad with the young women talking to a male friend saying that everything on the Internet is true. Well, it's not!
Pictures on Google have been faked.

Sometimes you can eventually tell via what is written. But there is literally no way to be sure unless you meet, preferably some place where you know there are enough people around who would be able to protect you.

It's really hard to tell but usual the best way to tell is if they only have one picture posted.

With how social media has exploded these days, yes, but I only have one photo on my FaceBook, and it's me.
Report as
Well most people.
Report as
Absolutely, you're right, but I was just trying to say that it's not going to be a 100% for sure way to figure it out. Nothing is though... Except of course meeting them face to face.

Plug the photo into Google Image Search

How?
Report as
images.google.com if the picture is anywhere on the Internet, like another profile or website, Google will find it.
Report as
But you can create a fake google account and use anybody's picture?
Report as
And google image will show that. Google image search will let you know if the photos are being used on another person's profile, website, etc... Say I made a fake profile here in PA.. Searched the web for an image to use as my profile pic. I see Jane Doe's profile, she's cute, she's in CA.. I save her photo as my profile pic. You search my profile pic in Google Image Search.. You'll then discover that Hailissa in PA and Jane Doe in CA have the same exact profile pic.....So that's your clue that at least one of them is lying. If they don't have the photo on the web anywhere this won't work, but with the popularity of social networking and Internet these days, chances are if you're meeting someone online, the pictures will be attached online too. GOOD LUCK.. And if you have suspicions, well, idk, trust your gut!

Thanks so much!!!

But realize that anone can take a picture of anyone else then post it to facebook and make up a false account. Google image search is a good idea but can't be relied on as a definitive tool against faked accounts.
