In a Big Bang Theory Episode, The Habitation Configuration (2012), I noticed that the house number on Wil Wheaton's home is 1701.

In Star Trek TNG, the Starship is identified as NCC-1701-D. Was the number 1701 chosen deliberately?

Yep. Deliberate placement by the shows creators. If you remember the TV show heroes, they had Star Trek references all the time on there.

Thanks. How did you find this out?
These little references make the show great! Agreed?

How did I find out about the number? I'm really just guessing because of the coincidence. Watch the episode again, maybe Chuck Lorre says something about it in the little clip he puts up at the end if the show. The ones in heroes I started noticing after a license plate was NCC 1701. I then went back and noticed a lot more things.

It is a fact that the number was chosen deliberately and it served as a reference to the U.S.S Enterprise registry number in Star Trek. The show combines such references and that is one of the things that make the show unique by every sense.
