find something under the table. you still have 2 yrs before you can stop paying taxes.B@ssturds. i'm in NY so sorry you're cost of living is cheaper than ours or i'd say move. don't a lot of people live off the land there? do you garden/hunt/ fish? make antler buttons or knife handles w/ shed antlers. allows you to walk in the woods all day.

Robert, Boy would I like to find a table to get under! Yes cost of living is cheaper here than NY. There are some folks who live off the land, and most everybody has some kind of a garden. Regarding hunting and fishing? I fish, but not hunt except in the meat market.. I have years past lived in Alaska for 4 summers, and would in my younger years have considered myself a woodsy kind of guy. Have you ever seen the Disney movie "Wilderness Family?' That is pretty much the "all the time" obsticle course that living in the real wild is like. Interestingly enough, contrary to modern belief, more people die from moose attacks that all of the other preditors combined (including Kodiaks, Browns, Blacks and Polar bears and all ot the other preditors rolled into that package. Now the suggestion about the use of antlers is quite interesting, though there are not as many to go around as one might think...yet I will ponder that for awhile. Story: I have a friend who went to a garage sale. There was an big deer antler chandelier for sale for $300.00. Before my friend left that sale, he had purchased it for $50.00 . He took it home and rewired it, and listed it on ebay. He sold it for $3,000.00 + shipping to a hunting lodge somewhere on the upper east coast. Neat story huh?

Look into a temporary job agency like Dolphin or Kelly temps. That is the wave of the future with a lot of companies now. They don't have to pay certain benefits to a temp and can just lay them off at will. They employ seniors because they only need a part time job.

If driving & assembly jobs are n/a right now, in Florida the majority of toll workers are seniors. (People who work in toll booths.) Not saying it's the best job in the world, but they manage it well, taking coins/dollars & making change. Your DOT office may have openings. (Provided OR has major toll roads/highways.) Also, many grocery stores are now actively hiring senior people to bag groceries. Look for an opening in a high-end n'hood or community, & when regular customers get to know you, offer shopping & delivery to their homes. On your own time, as a private courier. You can slip them a card while taking their bags to the car. Tricky but not impossible. You just can't involve the store. (Unless they offer customer delivery.)

Great suggestions. I am listed with Express Professionals in 6 of their offices area wide. We don't have toll booths here or in OR or north of us i WA, nor east of us in ID, and west of us is the ocean. South of us is Cal and I don't know Cals system. I do and am available for private courier, and advertise on craigslist (but get some non usable crazy offers using that site). Bulletin boards here in our area do not seem to work well. But, I will ponder some of you interesting productive suggestions and move forward accordingly. Thank you.
