It sounds like you have a white fly infestation.

Put each of your plants into their own paper bags, then take an aphid soap spray you can get from, say, Walmart and spray one of the plants and immediately close the bag, folding the opening so that the flies don't get out.

Do this for each of your other plants, one at a time, and leave them in the bags for about an hour. The soap insecticide will have rendered the flies unable to fly, and the insecticide part of the spray will kill them off.

You then may proceed to change the soil they're potted in, because these flies do reside in the soil and that's where they came from in the first place. If you don't kill the flies first before you change your soil, your fresh soil could get infested.

It's also called "insecticidal soap".

I just found a homebrew recipe to make your own with, but it doesn't have the insecticide part in it.

I would change the soil, it's a good thing to do from time to time anyway. Change the soil, clip off any dead leaves/branches. Water them well once and water/clip again next week.

I asked the plant lady this question at my work! She said not to over water your plants. Letting them dry out a little is fine. Put some sticky fly catching sheets around the plant soil. Problem solved :)
