My son got a Saturday suspension for defending his brother from a bully(He pushed the other student). Will it effect his college admittance?

He doesn't deserve a suspension for defending his brother. That is bravery! Talk to the principal about it!

No I don't think the colleges even get access to that kind of record, unless its on a police record. Also, they don't really care about anything before high school.

I know, it's messed up how the system works. He's supposed to run and get a teacher and leave the bullied to the bully.

What a bunch of BS. Youre son gets suspended for defending his brother from a bully and he gets punished? The school system is so messed up. Instead of commending him for doing the right thing he gets in trouble. Sorry to hear that happen to you're son but I have kids that go to school and I tell them if someone starts something with them, then they should finish it. You're boy did the right thing and I hope it doesn't follow him to college. Even if it does I hope his explanation to the school of what happened is over looked as a courageous act on you're son's part

What was he suspended for? I actually think that would look good for him. He was only trying to keep his brother safe.

We are missing details. What started the incident? Did you talk to the principle? Was the other kid also suspended if not, why?

The other student told my son to go F.... himself and when he was finished to go kill himself. His older high school brother, whom NEVER is in trouble overheard it and pushed the bully up against a wall, told him to apologize to his brother and that if he did not leave his brother alone, he was going to beat the shit out of him.
The other boy got a detention and my son got a suspension for touching the other child. I did get a note about how my son was very responsible and honest as to what happened, but since he "touched," he would be the one getting suspended a day.
Oh by the way his brother his special needs.

You got a note? Why weren't you called down to the school? It involves 2 of your children. The other kid physically threatened your younger child I'd have been demanding more than a detention. Go on the offense and use the schools rules and regulations against them. But again what caused the boy to say that to your son? There is always one more part to the story. Where were the teachers and aides while this was going on? I'd have been in that principles office so fast. She who screams the loudest gets the most. What are they doing to keep that kid away from your youngest? Also better explain that in legal terms ANY laying on of hands can constitute assault and arrest to your oldest.
