Why do you think we have laws that prohibit discrimination in pay based on gender/race but permit employers to discriminate in pay based on

education or experience

Report as

When an employer is basing someones pay on their education or experience, he is basing that on the usefulness of the education and experience. That is something that has a value. Gender and race do not change the value of an employee.

education is skill and can be achieved by anyone who tries. Gender/ Race is what you were born with and can?t change (well you can, but that?s a different topic)

Because while gender and race have no effect on your value as an employee, education and experience actually add or detract from your value as an employee.

That's not discrimination. It's called a job description.
