Body language is what someone does when they aren't talking. So like, if you sit next to someone on a subway and they turn their legs away from you, their body language is telling you that they don't want you to sit next to them. Posture, facial expression, eye contact, and hand gestures is all body language :)
Body language is the way a person stands, gestures or makes facial expressions to whatever it is they are hearing or seeing. If someone sees another stub their toe, they might wince. If you are saying something disagreeable, they may cross their arms or back away. You can usually tell how a person is responding to you by how they are acting without having to speak a word.
