Said from a strongly conservative right winged standpoint yes
Report as
I actually didn't vote for either side bc I thought both him and Romney were idiots
Report as
If you didn't vote, then you can't complain....
Report as
I can, because I didn't have a better choice. Either way both candidates would put the US in a bad state of mind
Report as
Your vote should have been for which one was better than the other. And I agree - if you don't vote you can't complain. You had your chance to put a say in, and you didn't. Did you at least complete the rest of the ballot?
Report as
Just saying I would vote only for a stand up man like Reagan. Or even for a guy like Martin Luther King. Or maybe Bill Gates (who actually knows how to make $ instead of spend it). But unfortunately presidents now says are a puppet, in my opinion, and America is ceasing to have people who stand up for what is right. it's not complaining, it's the truth.

Well, it is his platform. And they're still really really needed, and very important.... so, yes.

that's my point after four years he is still saying i will fix the infrastructure,he hasn't even tried
Report as
Yes he has. He's definitely tried, and succeeded on some. But it's not been enough, and he's been getting stonewalled. That's the bad part of a system with checks and balances - you get one stubborn group and the whole thing freezes up. Having an entire party say from the get go "We won't work with him, we're going to make him a 1 term president" isn't beneficial to the country.

Sounded remarkably similar to what I have heard before. But there were a few new ideas. Tax reform was new; sequester cuts are new from last year (it was his idea, and now he dislikes it), and immigration reform is a recycle (never did anything about it but it was an idea from his first year).

There's nothing remarkable about that. It's true of every 2nd term POTUS. Did Bush reverse course and and disavow himself in his 2nd term? What POTUS has?
Report as
I agree. Usually the SOTU address is a free fire zone of new ideas; Clinton was noted for larding them into his speeches. I actually looked for all his new ideas, trying to figure out which group he was trying to win over, until I figured out it was just to impress us. But this time, not much new, cept the DOA gun bill. Seriously, I predict: the ideas he will get passed from this speech? Maybe two or three. He doesn't propose bills, and doesn't recommend legislation. Immigration reform, if and only if he will step up enforcement and finish the fence first. Returning the troops, if Afghanistan cooperates and gives us a SOFA and we can get a good work result from/with the drone drivers. But expanded child care, larger government, not gonna happen.

It's you! He didn't talk about gun control and the 15 year old student getting killed a mile from his house four years ago.
