I'm all for guns! I mean it's not the gun that pulls the trigger. And gun laws protect who?? Make stricter laws is only going to take guns from the majority of people, when was the last time a crook obeyed a law? The bad guys are still going to get guns and shoot people. And that leaves us good guys NO SELF defense! I'm a girl and heck yea I want to defend me and my house from robbers!
no guns = no shooting ppl = no need to defend using guns. if there were no guns in the first place, there wouldn't be any guns to shoot and kill. therefore, no need to protect oneself from a gun with a gun.
I see no issue with stricter gun regulation. For legitimate buyers, the background checks are at most an inconvenience. But they can stop criminals from buying guns.
Also, the last time I looked, the highest percentage of gun-inflicted injuries was suicide or suicide attempt. Usually these occur from either access to an unsecured gun in the household, or are bought from the store and used the same day. Suicide is often an impulse that if initially delayed can be prevented all together. Placing a day or two waiting period on gun purchases, and improving gun safety education, can help reduce these suicides.
I think every household should own a gun. My granny's house got broken into one night while she was there by herself she thought the guy had a gun so she ran to go get my papas gun shot a couple times around him and it saved her life.
Reasonable gun regulations but the majority (75%) of gun murders happen with handguns; assault weapons ban will do nothing to reduce gun violence. The vast majority happens in homes or within a block of residences, and are drug related. We can't address the violence without addressing drugs.
The general "liberal "belief appears to be that guns simply run around indiscriminately shooting people, and put no blame on the individual firing that gun. Like taking away the means of destruction is actually going to stop the destructors - it won't! Gun ownership should be encouraged amoung law abiding citizens in order to secure a means of protection against the criminals who will secure their weapons putside of the law.
speaking as one who has fired a weapon on someone who chose to invade my home, it only steels my beliefs: more guns less crime, look it up. I'm a peace abiding man but threaten my children in my home and you will die of lead poisoning. that was my constitutional right and obligation. For the people who would argue that that wouldn't prevent others from robbing and raping. I guarantee you the felon I shot will not be hurting anyone else EVER. My next belief will not bid well with our cool aid drinkers, but the 2nd amendment was written with the idea that the people would also then be able to protect themselves from the (tame in comparison to today) government if that need reared it's ugly little head.
