With politicians we always say throw the bums out. But what good would that do when they'd just be replaced by 535 other bums?

Even term limits wouldn't work. It's the system that guarantees futility, not the officeholders. What would work short of robot servants in politics, cyborg politicians? Even term limits wouldn't work

DIrect representative government. Every citizens gets to vote on every issue that they so choose to via a secured computer terminal. Cut out the representatives that do not represent us let us represent ourselves.

We have the technology now. Cumputers are like refridgerators, most everyone has one. But the problem is like the drug problem. The people who are in a position to fix the problem stand to lose too much by fixing it an would never fix the problem in the first place since it would be against their personal selfish interests. The politicians would be required to make it happen and I do not see them williningly giving up their high paying cushy jobs, to serve the needs of the people they pretend to serve.
