I have this weird thing on my arm? Read below!!

It's a weird shaped tan spot on my arm. I have had it for 3 year. And I do a lot of things outside. Could I have skin cancer or what is it if it's not that?

Sounds like a sun spot. It may or may not be cancerous, spending a lot of time in the sun can definitely cause skin cancer. The only way to know is by going to the dermatologist & getting a skin biopsy. Good luck!

Was it always there? Is it growing? You need to look into these things before you get too worked up.

Sometime the skin turns to what you just explained. Could be a normal change in skin pigment caused by the sun or your body chemistry. If you are young and have had it for 3 years with no change in size or color, it probably is harmless, but it never hurts to see a dermatologist just for reassurance, and piece of mind.I have an app. next month actually.

it might just be a mole that sprang up late in life i have them pop up from time to time. keep an eye on it if it changes shape or starts to grow get to the doctors immediately to have it examined as it could possibly be skin cancer. if it doesn't grow and just stays there, chances are your safe.

sounds like skin cancer-- go to your doctor and have it checked , they'll remove it

I have lots of sun damage, and lots of spots. I would get a doctor to look at it. I went to the doctor for what I thought was skin cancer, it wasn't. However the spot next to was skin cancer. A quick snip and two stiches and it is gone. I just get rechecked every year.

I've had numerous surgeries for skin cancers, and though that does not make me an expert, people always show me their 'spots' and ask my opinion. I ALWAYS say, the BEST thing to do is see a dermatologist and ask not just to have it removed, but to have it biopsied. And IF it is cancerous, when you have it removed, you want a surgeon who specializes in MOHS surgery, therefore ensuring ALL of the borders are clean!
