How come people only respond to dumb questions?

It seems like I can only get a respond when I ask a not so smart question? Why is this?

Because people may not know the answer to your "smart" question. It is better to have less right answers than more wrong answers though.

Yes. "Smart". Smart is conditional, what may be considered "smart" to you, may be easy for some to answer. It also could be more difficult for others to answer. So, really, Smart is not always consistent.
