I have a 2.5"x8.5" tare in my linoleum floors and have laminate floors going down can I still lay it over the linoleum or take ot up?

I have been watching a lot of DIY, but I don't want to screw it up.

You can still be able to lay it over the linoleum instead of taking it all up. Just make sure that you are careful when handling the tare, so that you don't make it worse. You could hire a professional to do it for you just in case you experience any difficulty.

It's perfectly ok to proceed with the laminate floor without removing the floor covering. Just be sure to use the padding under the laminate .
