What are some ways I can get through a cold faster?

I often don't do anything different during a cold, but I think I'm getting one.

I don't know how long colds are supposed to last, but mine always go into, like, WEEKS before I'm completely back to normal.

What can I do to make it go by faster? I have a fun weekend coming up.

Drink lots of fluids: tea and water. No citrus like orange juice! That increases the stuffiness! Take a zinc supplement like Zicam. Rest as much as you can. Get a little fresh air and sunshine, if you can. Cuddle your dog, cat, favorite person (but do not cough, sneeze or kiss them on the mouth). Watch comedies. Laughter is a potent medicine. Eat easy to digest foods that are high in water, like chicken soup and vegetable soup. Prayer helps too.

Drink lots of fluids.. I know i sound like mom.
But seriously. Drinks with electrolytes (powerade, gatorade) will help you gain some energy and your body will soak up some nutrience.
Also, juices with vitamins like OJ, Apple, and Pomegranate help!

Try and keep the food a little light. Eat foods that are a little lighter and a little bland.
Also-- medicine always helps.

Just remember to get plenty of sleep! Since you posted this an hour ago. You probably should have been asleep by then.

Eat foods with plenty of nutrience, and stay away from oily foods!

Fluids by the gallon. Sports drinks are good but water is the best. Energy drinks, not so much. Rest as much as possible but pump as much water through your body as you can - this will help eliminate toxins, viruses, and bacteria faster than anything. Eat as much as you feel like.

Wear some garments and wrap yourself in bed and try to sweat.This is the fastest way for me.Although it was so many times ago thanks to God.

when you sleep wear like long pants long shirts make sure your warm when you sweat it helps take warm baths too and eat and drink healty :))it really works :))

one way is to get a cold is having the fan in your face and standing outside sweating.

Do this, fill your tub with nice hot water and soke in it, plus drink an alka'seltzer.

eat lots of ginger foods also eat healthier so you can have a better immune system to fight off any flu better like me when i do get one it doesn't affect me and fluids

Cold fx (immune system pill) can be purchased at cosco, fish oils, lots of orange juice and a shot of any liquor before bed it will kill bacteria in your mouth.

All of the above has always worked for me.
