(GIRLS ONLY) Im 5 days late on my period and im having period cramps... Whats wrong with me?

I dont know what wrong. Is my period changing?

You are probably about to start your period. (explaining the cramps)
Your period could be changing...or your hormones could be messed up from stress or bad lifestyle habits. :)

Periods are supposed to be irregular when you first start out. No need to worry unless you're s3xually active. :-/

I know I am not a girl but I think I might have an answer to your problem, it could be HPT. I would advise that you take an HPT test.

Have you recently had another woman move in with you like within the last month or two? If so then your "cycles" could be syncing with one another. Sounds crazy but it does happen.
Another reason could be that you have a cyst on your ovaries, they can be very painful and be described as "period cramps", or you could be pregnant...???

this is so true! I was very regular and on birth control pills. Then one month I had two periods. I freaked out and made an obgyn appointment! just to find out my daughter had started her first period!

It is a crazy thing with the way that womens bodies work. And it can be very scarey when you are late, then you start thinking all kinds of different things then come to find out your cycles are now synced... Watch out men!!! lol thats all I have to say about that one! lol

Its probably just an irregular period. Nothing is wrong with you. I started my period over three years ago and im still not regular. I go a couple months without having my period. Enjoy the break from blood while you can and pop some cramping pills. You'll be better and bleeding like normal soon. Trust me.

Did you still have pain when you wasnt having your period
Report as
Sometimes. I would feel bloaty and grumpy. But it wasn't as bad as my during-period cramps. However, as others have said, another girl may change your period schedule. Somehow your bodies sync together and flow the at the same time. You may be experiancing the effects of hanging with your girl friends for long periods of time. There are also times when you have an egg that bursts that causes a buttload of pain. For me it felt like my apendix was rupturing but it wasn't it. So, don't worry about your body. Unless your doubled over in pain for hours on end, then your fine and nothing is wrong.

Ask parents. Don't do what I did. I went out and got pregnant and I am 14

Good luck! Having babies is not easy! Stay positive and try to learn from your past... I hope all works out for you. I had my first at 18 and my last at 23. I have 4 and I wish I would have waited... So good luck and stay strong :-)

Nothing. 5days isn't that late. Your period could be off by a week and you'd still be alright.

it could just be excessive PMS. I frequently get all the symptoms and feelings of a period without the bleeding and I understand your frustration. If you are having severe pain you need to tell a parent or a Dr
