I have weight loss issues and need help!

I'm 17, 234 lbs, and I want to lose weight. I drink a lot of soda (though I'm trying to cut down) and I have trouble. I can't find the motivation to exercise, even though I want to, I don't. I say I'll put it off later. I've done diets, I've exercised, but even when I do it doesn't seem like I lose any weight. I try to eat healthy but my lack of results in the past has discouraged me from doing anything. I need help! I don't know where or how to start or what to do.

In a situation like this, YOU have to want it. And I'm talking, actually want it. About 4 years ago, I hopped on the scale after a girlfriend of mine, and topped it at almost 300 pounds. That realization, woke me up. I decided I HAD to lose weight. And I did, here's what I did.
I started off, for one year on the Atkin's diet. It's very easy, you still can eat anything you want, it pretty much teaches you portion control. Which is something that YOU need to learn. You realize your stomach is ONLY the size of your fist right? Anyways, in one year I lost 60 pounds on that diet.
You HAVE to stop drinking soda. Just cold turkey it. Start right now. NO MORE SODA!
The next year I decided to exercise. Started off, EVERYDAY, no matter what, at the gym. I walked hills to start. 30 minutes a day. After awhile, I started increasing my time at the gym, and instead of walking I was running. I ran my first 5k. Felt amazing. Looked amazing. Doing this, I lost 40 pounds.
All in all, 3 years, I lost 110 pounds. You can do it, but YOU have to want it.

Water, portion control, more fruits and veggies, NO MORE SODA, exercise (even if it's just walking).

Only drink water, eat healthy or become a vegan. Exercise everyday like running or walking. To get motivated listen to fun music that makes you dance. Sleep more so you have more energy. :)

You sound like the type who needs to quit cold turkey. I quit smoking in this way, some other things that may help are, writing down what you eat and drink throughout the day, not like calories or anything, just how much of what, then at the end of the day, look at your list, that can help motivate you to cut back. Also writing down activities you've done to help burn calories. Tell people that you plan to quit drinking soda and eat healthier, tell them you want support. The more people you tell, the more likely they are to help you out and remind you of your goal before you crack another can of soda. Try some easy exercise just to get started, walk more often, it doesn't burn a whole lot of calories, but it's a great way to get started, I've had a lot of family struggle with weight and walking was usually what helped the most. Your attitude changes after you start getting fresh air and walking consistently. Eventually you feel like you can do more. I'd start with the soda and walking though, Once you've mastered that, then maybe you'll wanna focus more on other stuff, like possibly changing your diet.

Have you watched the biggest loser? What is the FIRST they do? REDUCE calorie intake. PERIOD. You have to STOP drinking soda. Pretending to 'Cut Back' ain't gonna do it. STOP. Also, no more deli lunch meat or cheese. Other than that, keep yourself to a 2000 calorie a day diet. NO fast food. No junk food. Just regular food, and all the 'filler foods' you can eat. These have NO calories. Like Celery, apples, carrots, salsa (which combined with the chopped up carrots and celery tastes and (to me) sounds like chips and salsa.) Eliminate white bread from your diet. Wheat or oat bread only. If you MUST have icecream, switch to the lowfat yogurt icecreams.

hi. im glad that u want to live healthier.first things first, u have to want to lose the weight. you have to be ur own motivation. also start by cutting down on junk food. you can still eat the amount that you eat, all you have to do is eat healthier foods and exercise. if u dont want to hit the gym then take a walk through park daily. but walk at a fast pace.

If you really love soda, try Zevia. It is sweetened naturally and doesn't have the calories. If you can set small goals for yourself then you are less likely to get discouraged. Good Luck. PS I think you are very pretty :-)
