I have a 40 gal. tank, diesel. I ran it low and my engine won't accelerate almost like its trying to grab a higher gear, read details

my Racor filter bowl has always been crystal clean, but now has a chunk in the bottom. what should I do besides change filter, clean bowl, and fill tank? 6.2L GMC 1985. could there be another problem? all new gaskets in engine. all fluids check out fine.

check shift solienoid on trans
