If he gets hungry enough he will eat. Stop feeding by hand and he will get hungry and eat.

1. Stop feeding him by hand.
2. Leave the food in his bowl and quit hovering over him.
3. Just leave the food there, he'll come back to it. Don't worry, he won't starve himself.

But what if he doesn't eat from his bowl and he loses energy from not eating that's why I feed him by hand because my dog is a tea cup and needs energy ! So if he doesn't eat he might lose alot of energy

How old is he? Does he have a medical problem?

He is eating from your hand because he wants to. You need to leave the food on the floor where he has access to it. If you're really worried you can mix a tiny amount of something yummy like peanut butter or chicken stock in with his food. But you have to stop feeding him by hand. He'll be fine, trust me, you just have to let him eat on his own.

Oh yeah, if he's a little older his teeth might be hurting him, so try softening dry food by mixing a tiny bit of water with it.

Regardless of his size, though, eating a meal a few hours late isn't going to hurt him. Your dog knows better than you about when he's hungry or when he really NEEDS to eat. And trust me, he won't starve himself.

Our Yorkies do it sometimes so what I do is spread the food out on the floor so the dog can see everything. I wouldn't recommend it for wet food but If you give you're dog kibbles like mine then you're ok. Try making the experience special for the dog sometimes by mixing carrots or green beans or graded cheese in the dogs food, then they'll be likely to go solo

When I spread it on the floor it works sometimes but most of them time he only eats by the hand ! (My dogs a yorkie too )

At first my male dog was like that. He only ate from my hand and slowly but surely I spread it and now it's come to me watching him eat. They are picky little guys but don't you just love it? That's why my boy stares at me when I eat now. I hook him up he does the same for me. We are peas in a pod. A little too much i believe. At bed time he always has to touch me. He don't want to sleep alone and I have no mobility because he always invaded my space. Funny really but I do nothing about it

When your dog eats out of you hand he feels obligated to eat so have always food in his bowl and he will eat sometime.

Change dog food. Try one that doesn't have corn meal in it, or one that does have it--switch it around.

My dog's are very picky, I had to try half a dozen different kinds before I found one they would eat. Spot's Stew pleases them.
