How can you turn up the in-call volume of the receiver (ear piece) on the iPhone, if the side "up button" is broken?

The volume of the earpiece is down to the very low and I can't seem to find a way that can reverse this situation, as my side button that increases it, is not working. I found how to increase the speaker volume, the ringer volume and headset volume without the side buttons, but nothing for the earpiece. Can anyone provide some help? Is there any app that can do this?

The volume for the in-call volume can be increased when you are on call using the side up button. However, since it is broken, you may have to check with an Apple technician for guidance.

Normally, that's what I would've done if it was working. It is really strange that you cannot set the volume level through the iPhone's settings.
