Is employer responsible for medical bills if she has no workmenscomp or offers insurance if you get hurt on the job?

sprain back, went to er. didn't know i hurt my back until later that evening after I got home

AFAIK ... worker's comp insurance is mandatory in the USA, as well.

Of course, if you were an independent contractor ... you are responsible for your insurance.

I don't know what it's like where you live .. but here in Canada, workman's compensation coverage is mandatory. You should NEVER work for ANYONE without confirming that you are covered by insurance .. If you are not, you will run the risk of having to go through the motions of having to sue .. Legal fees can be GI-NORMOUS! It's not so complicated with a simple injury .. what gets complicated is long term disability or reoccurring complications due to an injury.

Employer is responsible for medical bills if she has no workerman's compensation or insurance if you get hurt on the job. You can be able to sue her for pain and suffering. Consult a lawyer for more help.
