Employer wrote that I will be soon be contacted to arrange an interview.

Sent a CV to an employer and they had responded that soon i will be contacted to arrange an interview. 3 weeks past no contact. Too late to send a follow up email or keep waiting?

I'd follow up. sufficient waiting on your part has been shown. ( Also shows a continued interest on your part).

Thanks. Should I ask when they are planning to do the interviews or just write a general thanks for the response? Don't want to sound too pushy.

More than a letter of thanks. I got a job once because I called to find out why the job had been reposted. Turns out there had been an administrative turn over. Prior administration left taking all resumes with them.

Right, you don't want to sound too pushy or too desperate for that matter. Just a general polite follow-up in the format of a thanks. I've been in that position of waiting a few times. Once they called me after a month of waiting and told me the job was mine. (I think I might have been the second choice in that one, the first must have bowed out. )
