How do you verify turntable anti-skate is properly set?

Report as

You need to set the anti skate dial to match with the tracking force, so that you can verify if your turntable is set properly. You can also use your turntable's manual to set up the anti-skating. For reference, go to http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Set_Up_a_Turntable#5._Set_Up_Anti-skating.

anti-skate will insure your tone arm will not skid across the record when in use. adjustment will insure the proper weight is on the needle where and when it contacts the vinyl.
