Does anyone know of a home remedy for osteoarthritis? I'm looking for outside of the box thinking, not the usual otc medicinal variety.

Specifically for ankle arthritis pain. I've heard of drinking gin with raisins and letting a honey bee sting you. Anything else?

Spray your ankle with WD40, then rub it in! Don't laugh, I saw it on the learning channel and tried it on my hands, and it works. Not all natural or regular OTC stuff but it works

Hey I'm willing to try just about anything! I just can't tolerate the gin and raisin taste, and I can't get my hands on a honey bee. Thanks

I've had osteoarthritis for 57 years now! Started when I was 7. I've tried every OTC on the market, not to mention Rx meds! You might also try hot wax. You can find a heated paraffin wax machine at Walmart for about $20.00. I alternated the WD 40 on the hot paraffin and got relief for several years. Unfortunately, I am way past that point now.

Thanks, have you tried the Gin and raisin concoction? My late Dad seemed to gain some relief from that for a number of years, although it may have just been the Gin talking.

No, but I can't do alcohol with the meds I take! Mine got to the point that I'm bone on bone in most joints, lost 17 discs in the last 12 months! Doc says he keep me on enough meds for the pain until the end though! Thanks for the suggestion,

Jello. It is the glucosamin and chondroitin.

What kind of jello are you suggesting?

Regular Jello brand jello. Guess what it is made from?

Ok, because of your post I did a little research on Knox brand gelatin and I am ordering a few packets to try in a daily yogurt or oatmeal. Thanks for the suggestion.

Cut a potato in slices, put the slices in a cup of cold water and let it stand for a night ..drink it on an empty stomach the next morning...my aunt does that..I guess it helps

Yoga is good for your joint health. But always consult your physician before starting any exercise. Good luck.
