They are stuck in the 50's and don't understand our generation. Somehow these stuffy people from the past have managed to forces these ridiculous and sad values onto there own kids as well- how pathetic. If you say they are just not to your taste that is one thing but the open discrimination I've seen is something entirely different. I don't have piercings or tattoos but I've seen the gross judge mental looks some people give others for having them.
A lot of people are afraid when they see someone with a lot of ink or piercings. For some, it's hard to understand that body-decorating is as valid a hobby as any. By discriminating against people with tattoos is just judging someone for the color of their skin...... You see where I'm going with that.
The Lord Thy God made you the way you are. If He wanted you to have tattoo's he would've created you that way.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
It depends. Most of the time, I think most people ignore tattoos and piercings. If you have a lot of ink/piercings, that may be a turn off to many people. Also if you are sporting visible ink that screams "WHITE POWER" or Nazi/Aryan designs, you may not be invited to any Bar/Bat mitzvahs any time soon or be invited to join the exclusive ranks of the local golf country club. Known gang related ink is not going to win you too many points in "upper crust" society either, and you may find yourself being "picked on" by law enforcement more than you like, because of it. Otherwise, ink and pierce yourself to your hearts' and pocketbooks' content. Keep in mind, that should YOU become dissatisfied with your ink or body mods, cosmetic surgery is still expensive and as far as I have observed, not all that effective. (Yet.)
