Since VICKS helps with breathing so much --- why aren't you suppose to put it in your nostrils?

Not really sure, 1Mac. But, from somebody who would do a commercial for the stuff 'cause I've used it since I was a little girl (and that's just way too many years to say), just putting it "under" your nostrils does the same thing. And if your face is hurting from sinus pressure, rub it on your cheeks (just not too close to your eyes), one your forehead, & even on the back on the neck (especially if you've got a sinus infection). Works wonders!

I suspect it would probably hurt.
As in sting, or "burn".

Too much in a sensitive area. It would sting and burn. You want the vapors, just the sloppy stuff in you. XD

YES I rub on chest to loosen congestion under nose to breath and IT IS DIGESTABLE in small quantities. my grand father did every night I never seen him sick. EVER

Because the inside of your nose is mucous membrane and can absorb it. Also it will burn. You just want the vapors.

If you put it IN your nose a lot, eventually it will travel to your LUNGS and that is so very not good.

Being petroleum based you don't want to risk the effects of absorbing it into the blood stream through the mucus membranes of the nose.
