Why do prodigies exist?
I'm not talking about smart kids, even super-smart kids. I'm talking about genuine prodigies like Mozart who played piano at 4, composed first music at 5. William Sidis could read at 18 months, wrote books and was fluent in 4 languages by 7, and had an IQ above 250. Chess is full of them: Sammy Reshevsky and Jose Raul Capablanca are two who come to mind.
These were often kids who just KNEW how to do things without their learning experience being evident.
So how does it happen? Is there an explanation? What's your opinion?
