Ground beef smells a little sour but it did not introduce a gag. it says "never frozen, always fresh". should i toss it?

just bought it from the store and three days from expiry

To be on the safe side, because you said it smells a little sour I would toss it.

The company that sells the beef says "never frozen" because meat usually tastes better when it hasn't been frozen before you eat it. That still means that you need to eat it before it goes bad.
