Nothing. It's her life. She has her reasons. Whether selfish, or she jsut needs to experience life a little, they are her reasons, and its her right to make her own decisions. If she stuffs up, well, too bad. Not your problem though.
It is not easy to convince somebody when she is already decided. However, let her know that there is a possibility that the child may not be well cared for as she would have and thus, she might be subjecting him to mistreatment in case the father gets another woman.
nothing. if a parent does not want to take responsibility for their own child, the child will be better off in someone else's care. the possibility of neglect or abuse if in the care of the mother, is too great. if you suspect that the child is endangered by being left with the father, then it would be your responsibility to report ALL of the information concerning both parents to the proper authorities. if you just report the father, and the mother feels "forced" into taking the child, you are responsible for any neglect or abuse to that child.

You are trying to get her to do what you want. Remember how you reacted when you were little? You did the opposite. Stop meddling and just let the kid and mother know you are there if needed. What are the rest of the missing details to this story???
