If you don't think it's fair ... don't join one.
Duh!
Nobody is forcing you to join/follow a religion.

What makes you think 9-11 had ANYTHING to do with GOD? Because some psychopaths said? These are people doing the work of Satan. Just like the westboro idiots. And by this question and many others like it, you have fallen for his tricks, blame God and turn away from Him. How sad.

The point of Christian religions is love and salvation (eternal life). The problems to which you refer are brought about when religion is politicized or represents government. Separation of religion and government is how our Constitution is written. So we do not go to war in the name of religion as some governments have done. We join in war efforts to maintain stability in the world. We also work for human rights.

There would be wars and dying without religion probably more. religion isn't the issue it's people. the point of Religion is to practice and profess what you believe in. and you do that because it keeps you grounded and at peace.

Religion taught me that homosexuals are bad people. That brought me peace as long as I lived in a society that shared that belief. But when I started moving out into the world and stretching my horizons, that belief did not bring me peace. In fact, it brought me shame to know so many others are being bullied and even killed because of that belief. It doesn't matter what anyone says religion "should" do. What matters is what religion "does". If there is an all-powerful God, and religion is the instrument he gave mankind to teach what God wants of us, he has the power to fix it. He would also has the power to make his wants so unambiguous that there would not be thousands of religions; often with multiple competing sects within each one. Of course, there will be many who say it isn't God's fault that most of the world does not follow their particular religion and sect which is, after all, the one and only true way to live.

1. Homosexuals the person isnt bad being homosexaul is bad and the people who bully them are bad and shouldn't do that
2. there is an All-Powerful God and only 1 and he has the power to fix it and he will in the second coming. But God is giving people the freedom of choice. he loves you/ everyone and wants you to choose to follow him

It is my view that religion came out of our evolutionary desire to understand the world around us as a coping mechanism. While I think homo sapiens have out-grown the need for religion, I cannot say adhering to a religion is unfair if the adherents are accepting of its dogma and strictures. I think there are many people who are forced to engage in practices they wouldn't engage in otherwise, but that is only judging them by my own moral and ethical views. For instance, my world view sees the wearing of a hijab as demeaning, but those who follow that practice see it as an act of worship.

What is the primary cause of war? It's our wicked hearts. Religion and ideology are simply the means through which we exercise the wickedness in our hearts. To think, as many outspoken atheists do, that if we can somehow remove our "impractical need for religion," we can somehow create a more peaceful society, is to have a mistaken view of human nature. The testimony of human history is that if we remove religion, something else will take its place, and that something is never positive. The reality is that true religion keeps fallen humanity in check; without it, wickedness and sin would reign supreme.
Even with the influence of true religion, Christianity, we will never see peace in this current age. There is never a day without some conflict somewhere in the world. The only cure for war is the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ! When Christ returns as He has promised, He will close this current age and establish eternal peace.http://www.gotquestions.org/religion-war.html
