I take 25mg trazodone many nights, is it safe to take 30mg dextromorphan for cough as needed sometimes, or can I get serotonin syndrome?
The pharmacist said as long as I am taking a therapeutic dose of dextromorphan for a cough and as long as I am not taking trazodone for depression (just a small dose for sleep), there should be no problem even if I take them together, but I am skeptical because on drugs dot com, it said serotonin syndrome could happen. I took 25mg trazodone last night for sleep and now at 5pm today, even though I needed to take 30 mg of dextromorphan for a cough, I took half the dose (15mg) because I am worried 30mg dextromorphan is too much since I took 25mg trazodone last night. Am I being too careful? Even if serotonin syndrome resulted, it would be very mild, and I would just stop the trazodone and the cough syrup, right?
