Is dental/oral disease proven to be a long term/late side effect of Chemo&Radiation treatments in 1996 for Hodgkins Disease survivor?

Cancer survivor for 16+years now! Was treated with 6 cycles of ABVD Chemotherapy regimen, and 30 Radiation treatments to the neck&chest area in 1995-1996.I've beat many odds, but have also had many health problems since my diagnosis and treatment. My most recent problem stems back to 1998,when my teeth started chipping away,at the gumline. I'd go to the Dentist, and have them fixed-I've had numerous root canals&crowns, but in the last few yrs, have had to have many extractions due to so much tooth loss&decay around my gums(even in my crowns, one of which is only 3 months old).I recently sought out a specialist&he claims that my teeth can't be restored, nor, should no dentist have ever tried to restore them due to damage done from cancer treatments.Anyone ever had this problem? Thank you!

Dental disease is not proven to be a long term side effect of the Hodgkin's disease treatment. However, since this disease makes the immunity weak, there is a possibility that the gum is very sensitive hence worsening any infection. Get more information about this Hodgkin disease on
