No, it's real. I don't make anything of it, it's just your mind being aware that the body is asleep. It's hard to do, too. Only twice for me. Despite trying.

Are you a complete moron?
I've mastered it, almost everyone does it by accident in their life.
It's biologically explainable.
Scientifically proven.
You probably can't do it, so you make yourself feel better by saying "it's impossible".

If you use X it is normal.

Whenever I want to have a lucid dream I drink a half cup of coffee right before I go to sleep. Enough caffeine to keep my mind alert but not enough to keep my body awake.

Interesting.
I might try that.

It shouldn't because lucid dreaming is supposed to slow your heart

It happens to me too! Ugh! I can't get passed it! It always wakes me up!

Should I try it more than once in one night?

I've tried... It doesn't help, but I think I just need a little more practice staying calm. More then once means more practice, so it sounds like a good idea!

It usually slows your heart rate. It may not be normal, but I'm sure it's not dangerous.

I've had it happen many times. Some people say it's not your heart, but a manifestation of your fear. Just try to relax and not be afraid.
