Mods why have things gotten so strict around here?

Don't you think the new rules just create more trouble than they're worth?

Hi Ms Stina, we were getting a lot of complaints from a lot of users, so Ask decided that it was time to make some changes. People wanted to be able to get real answers to real questions rather than be harassed and given poor quality answers. If you want to read the new guidelines you can check them out at http://www.ask.com/about/community/guidelines

Just so you know, that's a link to the other question you answered

Thanks for the link. I mean I agree with the rules, but idk if people are gonna catch on & they'll just keep asking the annoying "why was my Q removed" over and overrrrr again. Another question- is there now a comment limit? I've heard about it but I don't know the specifics.

sigh, thank you mosslegs

^ that's ok the link leads to an answer with the actual link lol.

Ms Stina, there has always been a comment limit to help limit spammers from bombarding the site with spam, they just recently changed it.

What has it been changed to?

Ms Stina they don't tell us the details on things like that... lol actually I got mosslegs comment just in time to edit the link before I was locked out so it is the right link now.

Do you have an idea? What's the point of the restrictions in the first place? It's not that likely that someone will spam up the site; not likely enough for there to be restrictions because of it!

Actually you would not believe the amount of spam we remove every day. I spend most of my time at night cleaning up spammer content :(

Thank you for that.

Advertising basically, free advertising, often electronic such as e-mails or, such as in the case of this website, annoying posts on otherwise good websites
