Federal law states any employee working 8 hours per day is entitled to two 15 minute breaks, this is not including your lunch break which is set by your employer. However, many employers do not adhere to the "break" law.
As others have said. Yes there are federal laws allowing you these breaks. However what do you do for work? Is it more informal so you're able to use the rest room at will? Sometimes the employers feel a break isn't required under those circumstances. I work in such an environment. To me I'd rather have that freedom than scheduled breaks.
