How do we know how old the planet Earth is?

Report as

I already told you, because James Ussher counted up the ages of the people in the Bible! Haha :-)

They keep finding meteorites that are 4.6 billion years old (radio carbon dating) space rocks give us a more accurate age because the ground we walk on keeps getting recycled through subduction and spreading tectonic plates.

carbon dating, everything gives off radiation, the older something is the less it gives off, they can deduce the age from reading it
